How We Spend Your Money

Every dollar donated to Citizens For Responsible Growth In Leon County goes toward informing residents and pushing back on projects that put the county at risk. Here is what your donations have paid for so far.

We hired an attorney to review several laws for us, so that what we tell residents and elected officials is grounded in what the law actually says.

Printed materials

We print handouts for Commissioners Court and other public meetings. Most of them explain how tax abatements work and what one would cost the county.

Public records requests

Much of what we publish comes from county records. The County Clerk charges a small fee to pull and copy them, and donations cover those fees.

StopTaxHandouts.com and the billboard campaign

We built and launched a second website, StopTaxHandouts.com, to make the case against tax abatements for large industrial projects. It is backed by a billboard campaign now running in Jewett.
